Lash work is the closest most licensees ever get to a client's cornea, and the CE market barely reflects that. Generic salon sanitation content does not tell you what to do when a client reacts to cyanoacrylate vapour or when a bottle has been open for three months in a warm room.

This track spends its elective hours where lash techs are actually exposed — adhesive handling, ventilation, isolation technique and eye-area infection control — and keeps the two required hours specific to the way a lash room runs.

Eyelash extension specialists renew under the barbering and cosmetology continuing education rules, so the four-hour structure and the 15-year exception both apply.

What the modules cover

1. 01

   Sanitation in the lash room — 1 hour

   Tweezer disinfection and contact time, single-use applicators, gel pads and tape, pillow and headrest turnover, hand hygiene between clients, and product decanting done safely.

2. 02

   Human trafficking awareness — 1 hour

   Recognizing indicators during long, quiet, one-to-one appointments, responding without confrontation, and the correct reporting route in Texas.

3. 03

   Elective: adhesive safety and ventilation — 1 hour

   Cyanoacrylate behavior, humidity and cure speed, bottle life and storage, sensitisation versus true allergy, airflow that does not disturb fans, and respiratory protection.

4. 04

   Elective: isolation, retention and eye-area health — 1 hour

   Isolation as an infection-control practice, weight and length limits, stickies and their consequences, blepharitis and demodex awareness, and when to refuse a fill.

How the exam works

An examination component closes the course, as TDLR requires for online delivery. The questions are practical — adhesive stored badly, a client with a reaction history, a set that is due for removal rather than a fill.

How your certificate of completion is issued

The provider issues your certificate of completion within 15 days of the course end date, and you keep it for 2 years. TDLR is specific about what has to be on it — for laser hair removal training the certificate must include:

• your name as the licensee or trainee
• the date you completed the training
• the course title
• the provider name
• the number of completed hours

Same-day reporting, same-day certificate

TDLR gives a provider 7 days to file your completed hours electronically and 15 days to get your certificate to you. We do not use that window. When you pass, we file your hours with TDLR the same business day and your certificate of completion is in your email that same day.
